MGB
DO NOT. I repeat, DO NOT have a mini gastric bypass. Kim, Dancinjudge on these forums, darn near died from hers. She was revised to a vertical sleeve gastrectomy. The mini is a very dangerous surgery. Please consider the sleeve or the RNY instead. There are also many bandsters here who have done well. Find Kim's profile and ask her -- do NOT have a mini.

I have a friend who works with a gal who had the MGB and she is doing fine. However, there is a gal on OH who had one and lost too much weight and Dr. R would not help. He only told her she needed a revision. She ended up going to OHSU for a revision with Dr. Deveney. Dr. R would not even respond to their requests for medical records. Check out the profile for dancinjudge - she is the one who had MGB.
I started out researching the MGB first and really thought I wanted that but then found the f/u care is not good and if you have complications then you need to go else where. Then I looked into lap band, then RNY and finally found the DS, the surgery I think is best for me. Good Luck to you!
