I am almost two weeks post op and I am cooking for my family of 4. In the last week I have eaten chicken, soft noodes, potatoes, and saltine crackers. I got overwhelmed and gave in. the worst part is I didnt get sick so I cant understand why they make us wait so long to eat food and why next week I am suppossed to start my purred diet if my "new stomach" is processing foods fine now if I chew them up well. Anyone have this problem, anyone have answers?

I would'nt if I were you change your diet until the surgeon or nutritionest says it is okay to.  You will damage your pouch, and end up back in the hospital.  One of the 1st foods that I ate when I was allowed soft foods, was a piece of chicken nugget.  Big mistake, I ended up having a stricture.  No fun.  Stick with eggs or refried beans or mashed potatoes.

I too would not veer from the eating plan your surgeon gave you. It is all for a reason. Your pouch and sutures are still healing, and even though you may not have any ill effects that you can feel immediately, you could do some real damage to your insides and not even know it.

Also, just my advice, but I would steer clear of pasta, potatoes and crackers. I don't know when/if those foods are acceptable on your food plan, but they are high in carbs and will stall your weight loss. If you're going to cheat, at least do it with something that is more protein than empty carbs.
