My Update

Well I have not been on line in sooooo long that I thought I should update.....
 
On June 2nd I was in a car accident....a bad one!!!   Rear ended and I was the passenger.  No one else was injured but me.....karma?  anyway   I have a C-1 fracture and a broken arm and nerve damage in the right arm.  Normally a fracture like that in your neck means death or total paralysis from the neck down and a ventilator but I was lucky.  I had to learn to walk again while spending 6 weeks in rhe hospital and rehab....I can't imagine that weighing over 300 pounds!

Anyway, I thank god and family and friends and wonderful doctors and therapists for my progress so far.s....

I can certainly relate, almost 13 yrs ago (09/25/95), I was involved in a head on colission out on Cornelius Pass road in Hillsboro where we colided with a dump truck.  My former husband was killed instantly, I ended up with 2 broken legs, my left leg had 3 broken bones and my right knee was shattered and had to be wired shut. and a fractured right arm.  I did at the time weighed over 400 lbs.  I was life flighted up to OHSU I was on a ventilator for a little over a month.  I had to learn how to walk again and how to write and feed myself with my left hand.  Not fun.  I too was in a rehab center for over 6 weeks.

Today, I am almost 300 lbs down thanks to my surgery, my awsome personal trainer at LA fitness and my dear hubby.  I just thank god that I am alive!!
