Thanks to everyone!
Wow,
Everyone here has been just wonderful during my journey to WLS. I am back at home and semi-functioning. Boy, no one told me how good ice chips could taste, though. That is definitely a biggie! When they gave me my 1st tsp of ice chips, I thought this is so better than Cold Stone Creamery (well, not quite, but close).
I was very thankful that I had a normal surgery, no complications at all. (knock on wood) All the nurses and aides at the hospital were wonderful and really helped me out thru the tough spots with nausea and pain in my shoulders. After the 1st day, it got easier.
I really want to thank my angel go_go_girl for keeping everyone up with my status and for visiting me in the hospital. It really made a difference.
Also, to KristyH. and NWgirl123 for visiting me in the hospital, too. They are part of a great support group in Salem and they really show it.
I am doing much better now and so far have lost 10.5 lbs. I tried not to step on the scales, but the pressure was too much and I just did it.
Thanks for all the wonderful support,
Vicki

Congratulations on making it through Vicki! It's okay to step on the scale. Just don't freak when the weight loss stops. You will have little stalls here and there and yes, sometimes they will last a couple of weeks. Just keep following directions from the doc and the weight will keep coming off. This is an amazing journey. Enjoy the ride.

Thanks Linda,
I am really going to work hard on not letting the scales dictate my moods (boy, am I off my rocker) and force myself to only weigh once a week. That scale can be a tricky little bugger and I don't want to give it anymore power.
That is great advice about following directions and I will definitely do that.
This is going to be a great ride,
Vicki

Yeah!!! You are up and around and can string two sentances together!! This is a good thing LOL. After my last round of PS nearly a month ago (how time flies!) I couldn't talk coherently for a week!
Now, don't get on that scale TOO often--and don't expect 10 lbs lost EVERY week LOL. I finally got rid of my scale and just weigh once per month at the Dr office when I go in for my B-12 shot....less stress for me that way.
I really enjoyed meeting you and look forward to continuing our friendship!

Trisha,
You are so right about the scale. As I told Linda_S, I don't want to give that bugger too much power over me. So, I am going to fight that urge to step on the scale. Maybe I need a sign on it that says "Step Down" not up.
I am so glad you are doing so much better after your PS. Girl, you look good!! So many of us are saying "I want to be her".
Well, my coherence is finally starting to wane, so I better wrap this up.
Thanks again for all your help and encouragement,
Vicki

Yea Lori!!! Now only 4 days to go. Those last few days were the hardest, but so worth the wait. The best thing I did for myself the day before the surgery was to go have a haircut and pedicure. A good pedicure where they massage the feet is a great relaxant for me. The next day I felt much more relaxed and ready for the surgery (although still a little nervous).
This past week has been all clear liquids, and you are right, not to bad. I am now ready for the creamy stage today.
I am so excited for you and can't wait to hear about it once you are on the other side.
