This is definitely a time for the Happy Dance
Thanks so much!!! My problem is trying to fit all the things I want to do to prepare for this in the time I have left. You are so right - it is going fast. Maybe I should just go with the flow.
I have so enjoyed your journey thru WLS and your PS. You are an inspiration to all of us. Thanks for posting your pix - it has helped so many of us.
Thanks again,
Vicki
I have to admit I was shocked, too, when they said let's set a date. You always have in the back of your mind - there's got to be another test or another hurdle to go thru.
I can't wait til you get your date, too. Let's hope very, very soon so we can be the WLS Class of '08.
Thanks again,
Vicki
Great news! I remember feeling like I had to get everything cleaned and in order. It passed the time and did make it easier to come home. When you start feeling panicky draw on the faith that made you spend months fighting to make it happen. You worked really hard to make it happen and put a lot of thought and heart into your decision. When the crazy talk starts in your head just shoo**** away. Having never had surgery I can imagine you are a bit scared. I have found that from the moment you walk through the doors until you walk out again the hospital and your doctor have anticiapted your needs and feelings. They are pros at dealing with butterflies and clumsy attempts to navigate wires and bodily stuff.
We will be cheering you on and waiting to hear how things went.
Patty
I saw you mention a support meeting at night? Do you go to one besides that one through Dr Reads office? Can anyone go to the one you go to? I might like another support group to attend along with the monthly we have already. Please let me know.
Hang on for the ride of your life!! Its amazing!!
Take care,
Michelle
Thanks so much for letting me know about your experience with Dr. Read. I felt the same way after meeting him and feel that I can trust him with my virgin belly. I've never had surgery before, so this is a big step for me.
The support group I was referring to was the one in Salem that all types of WLS can go to and they meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at Salem Hospital in the basement. It is a great group of people and they are so supportive of everyone that comes. I've also been to the one at Good Samaritan - love that one, too. I agree that attending several different ones, you get a better understanding of what is involved with WLS and different experiences. I won't be at the next one, but hope to attend the one on Aug 20th - hopefully I will see you there.
Thanks again for your support,
Vicki
