Had my NP appt at ohsu today
Success supposes endeavor. - Jane Austen
It does seem very backwards that we can't see the surgeon to make our final decision on the procedure we want. It's total opposite of what you do for other types of surgeries. Usually you see the surgeon first and then get approval (I'm talking for other medical problems not WLS here). But in the WLS you have to do everything first and then see the surgeon. The only thing I can think of why is that they are so busy with them, they want to just see the patients who are totally committed to having it done and don't want to waste their time seeing everyone who is just contemplating having WLS. I don't think I will make up my mind 100% about the DS until after I talk with Dr. Deveney. I want to hear what he thinks from his own mouth, not others speaking for him. And that sickly man Susan was talking about... maybe he doesn't keep track of his vitamin levels, etc. and he is just one man, not all DS'ers. So Susan is the one who determines how much weight to lose beforehand? Did they make another appt for you or do you just call when you've had the rest of your testing done? Linda
