OWLS surg consult is tm!!
I can't believe it....OWLS called me yesterday morning to sched my consult and they had an opening for 8am on 6/4! I can't believe I got in so soon.
This is the last step before everying is submitted to my insurance! OWLS said I should have a surg date 4-6 weeks from the surg consult :-) It feels like it's really happening and it's kinda scary.

It went well. They tell you to plan for it lasting 2 hours but mine was almost 3 hours and I still had to watch the 30 min video after getting home (this is something normally done during the visit but they were having technical difficulties).
So, basically it went like this:
1. Fill out some forms, most of it was reading and initialing.
2. Watch 30 min informational video on computer (if it's working otherwise they give you your access code and the link and you watch it when you get home).
3. Get weighed.
4. Meet with research study coordinator where she explains the possible studies you could be a part of.
5. Meet with the fellow. He has a very thick indian accent and I caught about 2/3 of what he said.
6. Meet with the surgeon.
7. If the surgeon says you are a good candidate for surgery and you have completed all other pre-op requirements then everything will be submitted for insur approval.
8. I was told it takes about a week to submit to your insurance.
