Legacy - Dr Jan

Hi,

I'm new-ish to the site.  I've posted on the WA board about insurance (Uniform (PEBB)) but thought I'd post here as well since I'll be going to Legacy.  I plan on seeing Dr Jan and according to his office I should be called early next week to schedule the appt.  How long have others had to wait for their surgical consult once the other 4 appts were done?  How long was the consult?  What did he ask/do during the consult?  Afterwards, how long before you were scheduled for surgery (once you found out your insur had approved it)? Thanks!  I appreciate any info/comments.   Alicia

I kind of shocked that Dr. Jan is accepting new patients since he is leaving Legacy.  I don't know the exact date, but that's what other's have told me.  I have an appointment with him on June 12th, so I'll know more then. Anyway, everything moves very fast once you get the surgical consult.  I saw him and was scheduled for surgery a month later.  He's a terrific Dr.  I really like him. Nola

I was told about a month after all the pre-op appointments and then about 2 weeks to hear from Oregon Weight Loss Surgery. I finished my appointments last Tuesday, they told me to expect to hear in the latter part of June. Welcome to the Oregon board and good luck with your surgery

Thanks for responding.  I stopped by their office on May 14 after my 4 consult appts to ask about their schedule and they said that he'll be there through July and I read someone on the board that he is leaving as of Aug 15.  The office told me then that his patients will be seen by another dr for F/U appts (Dr. Halpin maybe?).  My insurance will only cover Dr. Jan and Dr. Patterson so I'm not sure how the F/C visits will be covered but I'm not too worried.
