Home from the seas
Welcome home, Taylor!
Glad to see that you're back on dry land!
Also glad to see that your PCP is supporting Linda's quest for WLS!
Enquiring minds want to know who Linda's surgeon is?

DS (lap) with Dr. Clifford Deveney. Cholecystectomy (lap) with Dr. Clifford Deveney 19 months post-op.
Has not weighed myself since 1/2010. Letting my clothes gauge my progress instead.
Linda's surgeon will be Dr O'Rouke. We met him at the Informational Seminar that we went to over a year ago. Seemed Like a nice man he put up with my questions. I was not sold on the idea of WLS at the time. He told me I had been doing my homework.
For now we will focus on getting as much weight off to make surgery easier. We have decided that water aurobics will be the best choice for some exercise. So I will be going Swimming . A fun thing to do together.
Good to see You
As they say in Honolulu (Mahalo) for being there
Oh yes, I first met Dr. O at the first WLS info seminar of the new year 2007. 16 months later, I met him again in the pre-op unit as I was being prepped for surgery. His hair had thinned a bit more since I last saw him. The two of us talked about the procedure that I was to undergo. He was very professional yet very nice to me. He was in the OR for a brief time after I was anesthesized before Dr. D started the operation.
It would be advantageous for Linda to lose some weight before her surgery to improve her chances for an excellent outcome. I had lost 18# between my initial appt with the NP and my surgery date. Plus, I had ramped up my protein intake in the meantime. I believe that the weight loss and the ramping up of my protein were the reasons my own surgery went so well and I was out of surgery in 3.5 hours.
Going swimming and doing water aerobics are good choices for exercise. And so is walking.
Great to see you posting too, Taylor!
