I see Steven Butt at Oregon Medical Group.  While not totally knowledgeable about WLS, he is supportive and more than willing to learn more. His wife also practices with the group if you prefer a woman doctor.  Her name is Mary Pugsley.  I think both accept new patients. Linda

I know our member, lowellian, sees a PCP in Eugene who had WLS several years ago.  Send a PM to her for the name and address of the PCP.

thx to both of you. it's a beginning and i will have a consult w/ docs this time. my doc was definitely misleading. i think lack of knowledge and ego are instrumental as far as decisions go. knowledge is power.thx!

I see Jennifer DiFrancesco, FNP at PeaceHealth Coburg Clinic ... she is knowledgeable in WLS and has several patients who have had the surgery.  I also had my RNY with Oregon Bariatrics in November 2006, as did my son just last month.  Dr. Umbach operated on me a few months after my RNY -- my gallbladder decided it wanted to come out.  Anyway, I just love my PCP and she referred me over to the Bariatric Center.

I believe Dr. Umbach is going back to San Francisco.  Dr. Gorrin is coming back temporarily, about 4 months, until they find a surgeon to take Dr. Umbach's place.  I absolutely adore Dr. Gorrin -- he is fabulous, such a caring man. Good luck on your PCP search.
