A Few Steps Closer!

Im planning to have surgery at OHSU and finally made my appt's with the NP and dietician...have to wait until July 18th for those, but I'm just happy I'm making progress. I have my psych consult and echo set up for this month as well. It's starting to sink in that this is going to happen!! Just had to share my progress! Brenda

Hi Brenda, You're at the same stage I am right now.  I just got scheduled for my dietitian and NP appts too, also in July.   Are you seeing their psych?  I'm not sure where I should go for that.   Take care. Linda

Hi Linda, I'm having my testing in Spokane. My psych appt. is with the group that the local bariatric surgeons use. They only do RNY so Im having my DS at OHSU. Maybe we'll see each other there! Brenda...oops this should go down below

Congrates, Lots of hoops to jump, just keep going, I just finished my last hoop, had to see a cardiologist due to a blip on my ekg, it was ok.  I just got my date for my lap band surgery and am so excited,scared, excited, nervious,excited.  It seems like it took me a long time, but it was only 6 months from my first orientation.  Stay with it, It is really interesting to visit with all of the professionals and listen to what they have to tell you about the process and how you are going to fit in. 

Wow! we are all pretty much at the same place. My nut appt got set for July 15 but since I live close, my NP one is on the 30th of this month. I am also trying to figure out where to go for the psyc part (Besides the one at OHSU) because I need 3 for my insurance requirement. and from what i'm understanding, ohsu only does the 1 to approve you for surgery.. Any suggestions from anyone?

Beth, I had my psych eval done at our local hospital by a LSW.  It only took about an hour and was covered by our insurance.  She faxed her report to OHSU and that was all it took.  Very easy. Sharon
