I am looking at my dog right now and wondering how he would taste with a little BBQ sauce.  UGH!! Anyway, the five day pouch test is designed to help us learn to "feel" our pouches again, like we used to in the year after our WLS.  The details are at  http://www.5daypouchtest.com/plan/faq.html  .  The first two days are liquid-and I must admit I NEVER found a protein shake I liked, so I am doing a slightly higher-carb option and doing slim fast, boost and ensure...although I have only had three today.  I have already had my 64oz of water (crystal light) and all I want is to gorge on carbs and worry about it later, my self control is AWEFUL, but I am still at it...though I wish I would have started on Saturday, so I could do the worst of this at home over the weekend, and I can concentrate when at school instead of wanting to eat people's heads.  :) Brandi

Awesome!!! I will come over and search your house for carbs and throw it all away!!! :)  I have always been a carb addict, but also just a general food addict too.   I am hopeful, but I am also VERY VERY weak!! LOL! Brandi

Deal!  So far so good today.  "Good" as in I haven't cheated one bit, I have had 4 shakes, all my water, and my daughter, dog, and SO are still alive (though still looking good with BBQ Sauce).  :) I haven't had any soup, but I may later tonight.  :)

Yep, I am doing it.  I am on day 4.  It has really helped me I think.   I lost 4 pounds this week.  Can't wait to see tomorrow.  It is nice to be off the carbs again.  I was eating LOTS of carbs and "slider" foods that would just go right down thru the pouch and not keep me full.  There are some great recipes on that site too.  I made the ham & cheese soup for day 1 & 2.  Did you try that?  It has quite a bit of protein in it, I think it was like 18 grams per cup.  I also did the ham & cheese brunch bake last night for supper.  Another yummy meal.  I also made the turkey salad (used boneless/skinless chicken breast though).  Now that is real good.  I will be eating that even after the pouch test is done. Good luck to you!  Stick with it .  You need to get off the carbs to get back on track.  I know you can do it!!  Keep your chin up.

I have discovered all-one.com products, available at Fred Meyer. I have never been able to gag protein or supplements down but this stuff is really okay. Not great, but really really okay. My Oriental medicine practitioner friend suggested it. Was I skeptical? uh huh. But, once in a while something actually really really okay. Makes me feel goo, too. Well, except for being in hospital right now in agony, that is. tee
