Didn't realize!
I didn't realize there was an Oregon board on this website!! Wow, I am so excited! I had my Lap RNY on Feb. 27th and have lost 49 pounds so far! I have absolutely NO regrets having this surgery. I am so excited to get to read about how all of you are progressing, knowing that I have fellow "losers" RIGHT HERE in my back yard (so to speak!).
Does anyone know if there is a local support group for RNY people in the McMinnville area? I was going to the group at OHSU (where I had my surgery), but I am in my final year of nursing school and unable to attend the Tuesday night monthly meeting anymore.....I REALLY miss going to a support group, and am hoping to find one a little closer to home.
I'm so happy to have found you all!

Congrats on the WLS!!! Welcome to the board. I have been absent for some time and am just now coming back to regain some sort of self-control before it is too late. I never have been able to make it to a support group, but I am hopeful that I will be able to this summer, school and 2 year old are keeping me on my toes.

HI Brandi,
thank you for the "welcome aboard". I hope that you will find the support you are desiring here....I have found this site to be a god send for me! What is happening, if you don't mind my asking...I am only about 7-weeks postop and would kind of like to know what types of challenges (WLS related) that I might find myself facing further down the road. You said you are trying to regain back some "self-control"....are you eating like you were pre-surgery, or is something else going on? If you don't want to share, I understand. I hope whatever you are facing, you wil find victory in your battle. I totally understand about school and kids.......I am in my final year of nursing school, and I have a family also...not to mention I work part-time as an LPN too.....it is brutal right now! Thank God I have a very supportive family, otherwise I wouldn't be able to do this! Hang in there, and don't give up!
blessings!
