Help for a friend?

I have a very dear friend who desperately desires and needs to have WLS.  The problem is is that she is on the Oregon Health Plan (she can't afford to self-pay either).  Does anyone have a clue whether or not a person can get approved  while on welfare?  Does anyone have ANY advice I can pass on to her? I feel so badly for her, she is working so hard to change her financial cir****tances (has a dead-beat, clueless husband!!), but it will be a long time before she will be able to get good health insurance that will cover this type of surgery.  Please, if you can, lend me some advice for her!

Kat: I read on another post where someone was on the OHP and said that they do approve the surgery, with a 6 month dr approved diet and co-morbidities.  I will try and find the info and forward it to you. Peggy
