Hiya peeps,

It's Me, Brandi.  I realize I haven't logged on in FOREVER, but I am once again trying to touch base with my fellow bypass buddies.  I have not lost any weight at all in over a year and a half, and have started to loose control and gain, so far, about 14lbs.  I think it is time I turn myself in for some help.  How is everyone?? Does anybody even remember me? LOL!

Hi Brandi, I do remember you, was wondering what ever happened to you.  How is your little girl doing?  I bet she is getting big.  I had RNY on 8/22/06. and almost 300 lbs down.  I have twins, boy/ girl, almost 2, driving me up the wall.  If I had my way, they'd be married and out of my house by now!  LOL Good to see everything is going great for you. Last i remember the dad was still on scene, things were stabilizing and the young dolly was thriving. Drfinitrly up for an up date and your presence at a breakfast. Hope all is well. It takes determination to turn yourself around and it is both worth doing and entirely possible. Any baby pics? tee

My daughter is 26 1/2 months old now, and the cutest thing, EVER, of course I am biased.  I am wavering at about 100lbs down, but nothing happening in a long time.  I would love to do a breakfast or something and get back into the WLS scene, maybe I will get back on track again.  My man is still around, and I am a full time student at Portland State, a junior, English Major/History Minor.  I am going to be a high school teacher when I grow up, LOL!   It is sooo good to be back here!! Brandi my girl!!!  Of course I remember you......actually the instant I saw your picture I thought "Brandi!!".  It was such a shock to you and us to find that you were pregnant prior to your surgery.  I'm sure you've long since forgotten THAT but that is where you left off with us.  I am so happy to know that you are enjoying life with your beautiful daughter and "your man" as you used to refer to him.  Now he's daddy!!  It's always good to come back to your WLS peers.  Never any need to apologize for being absent - in my mind I know that this community that is dear to me, gets left in the "things I wanna do" pile right along with my sisters and friends in my regular life.  Student, toddler, home, ya think you might be busy?!?  If it's any encouragement I have lost 15 pounds I gained about a year and a half ago.  Panic can set in, but I found that it didn't mean it was all over and I was going to regain it all.  Just know that having your surgery in place will make any effort work better.  Sometimes I find some of the post-op feelings can come back and help me.  It helps to revisit what worked when things were going down, and what things make you feel really bad about things.  I kind of refused to go back to the idea of going on a diet.  I just tried to work on what made me feel good, and get a grip on what was making life too hard.  Also, I am always an all or nothing person.  That's something that has never worked for me, and I try to remember that.  Since WLS I am able to feel the control comes from not having to worry so much about being in control.  Does that sound like hobblygook or what?!?  I guess what seemed to help the most was when I revisited positive things like swimming laps, getting a massage, going to the dog park, etc. it helped me recreate some of the energy of when my weight was going down. Good luck on things and WELCOME BACK!!!! Patty

you look great!!!  I remember you, too! yeah, life has been hectic, for sure!!!  I had emergency gall bladder surgery on Dec 23rd, I was lucky enough to have Dr. Patterson do it for me, on the sunday before Christmas, even! Although, if I may be so bold,,,,,she has a new Dr in the office, I believe his name is Dr. Grandy, the man has a bedside manner of an elephant.  Unsympathetic JERK! He tried to stop me from going to the ER, when that is exactly what Dr. P told me to do, then he (on the phone, on the way to Good Sam), offered to give me antibiotics and pain killers! Not only this, but I have no insurance, and the bill is up to 22, 000, I am in complete awe...those blood sucking vampires actually think they can get money from me, LOL!    UGH! Anyway, I have been loosing control, (can you say FOOD ADDICT?) and I am going to get it back! I found this website, the 5 day pouch test, and I am going to start it on Thursday, I have shopping to do first.  Have you tried this? Anyway, I will post pictures at some point, cause I do actually look a helluva lot better than that current pic..LOL! And I will post some pics of my monkey, Sydney Nicole, my little Gastric Bypass Baby.... :)  Brandi

That's too bad about the gallbladder.  I had to have mine out on an emergency basis when I was eight months pregnant.  Of course because of the bambino they couldn't do it lapro so I had to get a huge foot long incision.  It was great trying to heal that while growing a kid.  It's a beautiful scar (NOT) but FOR SURE a beautiful daughter!!  I don't know why they don't just take them out when doing the by-pass since they are so prone to cause trouble with large and rapid weight loss.  Hope you told Dr. P your impressions about Grandy.  Everyone seems to love Dr. Jan.  Dr. Hong moved back to Canada (sniff sniff). You are the one with those CUTE dolls on your site.  How do I get to those?  Yours are cute and G rated.  I want to pass it on to my daughter, but want it to be the cute ones you have. Patty
