Can't afford plastic surgery

Hi all~ Well, I'm almost a year out and only 40lbs away from my goal weight.  Now I am starting to think about plastic surgery to remove the belly flap.  At this point, I don't think I could get the surgery to be deemed medically necessary and am looking at having to pay total costs myself.  My credit is in the toilet so probably wouldn't get any kind of financing for it.  It will be a very long time before I can afford the surgery so I am wanting to know what others have done to try to hide the belly flap and look better in clothes.  I have heard of people using girdles but don't know how they have worked and if they do work, what type to get.  Any help you all can provide would be GREATLY appreciated. Good undergarments are defineately the key!!! You don't have to spend a fortune and it really depends on what your needs are. I always bought mine at walmart or target. I had 25lbsof skin removed so you know I had a bunch on my  abdomen(above and below the belly button)!!  I would get a simple "Tall" undie. Don't forget to get a really good bra!!! I used padded underwires and it really made a difference. I still buy them at a plus size section so it has wider sides. Remember a nice neck line can redirect the eye as well!!! Best of luck and we're all in it with ya in one way or another!! BIG HUGS.....Deanna
