If you're not already an established patient within the OHSU system, then it could take at least a month or so for initial contact to be made by the clinic. Try sending an e-mail to [email protected].

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Makes you want to drive down their and ask what is going on.  I am so glad that I am at the Bay Area Bariatrics and Dr Tersigni.  They return my phone calls, answer my questions and push the program along.

Im sorry to say you need to keep calling-the optimal time is between 2pm and 5. Ask for Heather and keep trying until you get live human on the phone. You need to keep calling because 1-they might have lost your records and 2. Even though you requested your medical records to be sent they might not have done it. I know because I spent the last 9 months with both of those situations happening over and over again. You have to keep calling because they will never call you and tell you that something is missing. They just wont call-If you call and keep asking-"are all my records in order? What do I need to do next? " you might-just might get the truth and find out if or what is missing. I sent my primary medical records 3 times (I suspect my primary care physicians office mucked that one up). The psych eval. was not sent for a month and then had to be submitted three times (I suspect a problem at OHSU). On top of that I was told my records were in order 2/3 time I called. Someone on this board suggested that one should hand collect their records and deliver them in person. I think that is a very good idea and one I would recommend to anyone working with OHSU. That way at least when you call to prod them for an appointment you can say you know they have them because you delivered them! Now-If you have read other posts you will know that 9 months later and after all of these problems I do finally have a date and all that. So hold out hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel-but be prepared you will have to bug them periodically.

I went to the info session 3/24/08 and brought my medical records with me. I filled out the green forms that night and the following morning I went in person and gave them my green forms and medical records. I called about 2 wks later and was told the NP was out that week so could not review my records. I was told to wait 2-3 more weeks and then call to check status. Hope this Helps! Brenda

Hi I am also going through OHSU.  I have come acrossed several snags.  Mostly on the part of my Dr's office.  I have to call everyone to get things done quickly.  I am now in the final step of what they have requested extra.  Pulmonary clearance.  Hopefully then I will be able to start with the necessary appts. at the hospital.  I will have to go through 6 months before surgery  mandatory with ohp insurance.  So, don't give up  be your own advocate no one can do it better.

So, I'm not the only one who hasn't gotten a call back. I attended the seminar thing back in january. And got my meical records and things sent over that next month (I waited a bit, as I am still having funding....  issues....   not insurance problems, but .. well, its a long story thats far from over, so i hate to jinx myself).   I called last week, and got ahold of someone.. they put me on hold for about 15 minutes, and said that they checked and had recieved all of my records and they were under reveiew and I should receive a call in the next few weeks to finally scedule an apt.   frustrating.   but at least i'm not the only one going through it. I just hope it all works out and I get to have surgery this summer. I am a student, and my life is sort of planned out in terms, and by what classes I can take. I declined a good internship this summer so I could have surgery instead, and I am not able to cancle fall, winter or spring terms either. So it must happen this summer, or I wait untill winter break... then next summer....       just, seems so long and stupid to have to wait to change my life for the better, when I know I want it changed now.    good luck to you!   let me know what happens.
