Not with OHSU.  Overnite sleep studies start at 8 PM and finish by 6 AM the next morning.  Patients have opportunities to shower and get dressed in the room afterwards.  Showering is especially helpful to get all that goop from the electrodes off our heads!

I remember all of this like it was yesterday.  It is so hard to wait once you have made your decision to have WLS.  Hang in there, it is SOOOO worth it!

seriousley consider bailing on them. I was lied to repeatedly. When I found out that student surgeond are doing the sugeries while your doctor is in the room "the whole time." I knew that fishy smell meant something. The doctor who writes up your surgical report is the one who did your surgery. Truth to tell, untill the liability cap has been called into question, OHSU has been arrogant about what they think you need to know. They give cash paying patients preference for dates and working on approval, and they are not above sandbagging people with their insurance company in order to tempt people to take out loans The worst part is, trying to work withnthem to solve problems gets you into a cycle with theor "ethical" people, who are CYA lawyers, not humanitarians. Run! tee

Good luck with your upcoming journey Angela.  I had Kaiser, stuck it out, I know it took me 18 months to get thru all their hoops, but in my opinion, it was well worth the wait.  I am down 286lbs since my journey started on Feb. 23, 2005.  I do have a way to go, I now weigh 241 lbs.  Have'nt been this weight in lord knows how long ago.  I am maybe possibly looking at plastic surgery late summer, early fall.  I have my sleep study on April 25th which is a Friday so that is great.  No worries to get to work the morning after.  I have lost 12 pounds in 6 weeks by doing my own diet of slim fast on the way to work and 2 lite yogurts for lunch.  I am pretty proud of myself right now.  I eat whatever for dinner and it is still working.  So yay for me!!  I will keep everyone updated as things progress.  Thanks again everyone for the support!

Will your sleep study be at the Marriott Residence Inn near the waterfront?

That's where my 2 sleep studies were.
