Well, I have a thickening of the bowel wall at the jejunum. Well, that's where the tube is, and is somewhat expected. He said it is also not uncommon. And shouldn't cause all the pain or swelling.
So I'm supposed to stick it out, see if it resolves on its own, and see Dr. D. on my next appt. on March 10. Keep taking my pain pills to have some semblance of life.
Man I hate this. So I'm considering if I should go to Adventist and get a second opinion? I don't necessarily need to go to ER, but i don't know where to go and how to get an urgent appt. with someone else.
Any advice?
If you want a second opinion, then contact the Legacy Good Sam Obesity Institute at 503-413-7557. They may be able to help you.
Their clinic is at 1040 NW 22nd Avenue, Suite 520 (between Lovejoy and Marshall). The six-story building is right across the street from the main entrance to the hospital. There's a parking garage behind that building on NW Marshall between 21st and 22nd as well as another parking garage across the street from the first one.
I wouldn't go to a GI doctor who is clueless about bariatrics.

DS (lap) with Dr. Clifford Deveney. Cholecystectomy (lap) with Dr. Clifford Deveney 19 months post-op.
Has not weighed myself since 1/2010. Letting my clothes gauge my progress instead.
Couldn't hurt to call the folks at hyperbaric clinic at Adventist.
I had a really huge seroma. Dr. D said tostick it out and let it drain on it's own.
So, we were in Seattle when I hit the wall and went to ER at Overlake where they drained over a gallon (you read that right) of fluid out of my belly.
Maybe it is to be expected, but so is good care and a respect for the patient's comfort.
I know now that it an unreasonable expectation at OHSU.
