Question for Eugene/Springfielders
I have started the OH Leader training and am thinking of starting a group that will meet in the evenings after work, probably once a month. The site I'm looking at has food available (inside a grocery store) so we could get food items for dinner, but couldn't bring our own food in. This would be an informational and support meeting for both pre- and post-ops. We could still do our fun weekend meetings where we go to someone's house for a pot luck, clothing exchange, or we can do walks when the weather gets nice, etc. My question for you all is this: If we meet on a weeknight after work, which night would work better for most folks? My only evening meeting at this point is the third Thursday of each month (quilt guild), so that's out, but otherwise I'm open. Then I just have to find out if the room I'm looking at is available then.
So, if you live in the area and would like to attend an evening meeting, can you let me know which day would be best for you? Also, do you want to be able to go home and relax after work then come to a meeting (at say, 7:00)? Or would you prefer to come directly from work, say 5:30?
Thanks so much!

Hi Linda,
I don't know how much I will be able to attend due to the busy schedule but I would love to be able to have the option!!!
I think you would do a great job as a leader!
A couple of things about meeting times...
*I would avoid Tuesday's cuz that is when the local bariatric center has their and those that can't make it on a Tuesday would love to come to another option!!!
*I might make it closer to 6pm. I say this also because the local group meets then and it is still tough for some people to make it directly after work so 5:30 may be difficult for many!
Thanks for doing this, you are truly doing a wonderful service to our community!

Hello Eugene OR,
Klamath Falls here. I had the VSG done by Dr. G. Alvarez in Mexico. I've lost 102 lbs and feel FANTASTIC. My high BP is gone, my diabetes is gone. Congrats to all of you who chose to take control of your life. It was the best choice I have made in my life. Keep up the good work.
Larry
Congratulations to you Larry! I was out on my afternoon walk yesterday, in not particularly sturdy shoes, when I thought to myself, "Hey! my feet don't hurt! My ankles don't hurt! My knees don't hurt!" This does truly feel like a miracle. No more worrying about blood sugar (I was pre-diabetic), my blood pressure is a bit low if anything, and I feel great too. So glad to hear you're loving this stuff too.

Congratulations on the OH leader training.
The 4th Thur of the month is out for me, but any other time is fine.
You might look at the sizzler on Gateway. They have a better than average salad bar, soup and other dinner items. They have two meeting rooms. one small and another larger one. They use to be available for free as long as a majority are eating. It's just a suggestion.
Keep us informed
Randy
Thanks all - it looks like Wednesdays are good so far. I've got to try to get over to the store and see what's available for meeting times. I'm thinking Market of Choice at 29th and Willamette. They have a great salad bar, deli, etc., except you have to look at the great bakery too, and a big community meeting room. I'll let you all know what I find out. I won't be done with training till probably some time in March, so we'll see how it goes.
