What is the best protein supplement
Hello!
Hasn't the weather been beautiful! I spent all weekend outside working in my garden. I am a little sore in the knees, but it was well worth it.
I am wondering, for those of you who have had the surgery. What has been the best source of liquid protein you have found locally here in Oregon. I would like to stock up before surgery.
Thanks a million.

It may help for you to order some samples from VitaLady. It's possible that you may like some flavors right now but not post-op due to changes of taste post-op. Here is the link: http://www.vitalady.com
I have read in other forums of others *****ceived free samples directly from manufacturers by stating that they're candidates for WLS.
Another good source is Unjury. The manufacturer has some unflavored protein powder that can be sprinkled into foods and drinks. Here is the link: http://www.unjury.com

I could make a few recommendations, but the best protein supplement for you is going to depend largely on your own taste buds. And, a word of warning, those taste buds are going to change after you have surgery. I liked the protein shakes before surgery. After surgery, it was all I could do to gag them down. I had to put them in a travel coffee mug with the lid on so I couldn't smell them. Otherwise, they would just make me sick. A few that I seem to tolerate, especially if I blend fruit into them are:
EAS 100% Whey Protein
UnJury Protein - I can't have the chicken soup one, as it has soy in it and I'm allergic
Designer Whey (especially the Pomegranate Fruit Protein)
If you make your shakes in a blender, be sure to put your glass into the frige for about 15 minutes afterwards to let the air settle out or you will be burping for hours.
