OHSU is irritating me!

Just so you know....it isn't limited to THAT department.  It is a hospital wide problem as far as I can see. The requirements are for the insurance companies more than it is for them although I still had to go through the psych evaluation  even though I was self pay.....which makes sense and I wish they had follow-up psych counseling as a requirement.

My experience with OHSU last year was one of waiting a lot, but I never had anyone tell me that if I would stop calling, they could get some work done!  I agree with Tamara -- I would talk to her supervisor.  No doctor's office needs an employee like that.  OHSU has some great surgeons.  I like Susan Fee the NP (not really impressed with the other NP Vicki), and I like the nutritionist, Shannon.  I wasn't really impressed with the hospital service. Isn't that funny, Linda.  I think Vicki is great, but Susan was unimpressive.  I think it's all who we get used to dealing with.  I like Shannon too.

The only problem I have with OHSU right now is getting a psych eval that is required for my WLS.  The clinic does not have a psych on staff; therefore, the eval has to be outsourced. I was given several referrals by the social worker for my PCP as well as Susan, but none of them are experienced in bariatrics or WLS.  Nor are they willing to take me in as a patient.  Yes, I have already communicated with Susan about my situation, and she said that she would talk to her team.  So far, I have heard nothing about that. The optimal psych would be experienced in bariatrics, WLS, and eating disorders.  Thus far, I have yet to find one and am not actively searching for one right now.   So now my WLS is on hold pending the required psych eval.  Unless the clinic has a psych on staff, I may not go thru with the WLS after all.  And that would be very unfortunate.

Oh Vicki, I had a psych guy that deals with WLS do my eval.  i can't remember his name though.  I have his contact info in my computer at work, and I'm not back to work yet!  I seem to remember his name is Todd something.  4 or 5 letter last name.  Trask or Resk or somthing like that.  And he practices at Montgomery Park on NW Vaughn.  He was reasonable and fast with his report.  I think I paid $150.   UGH! This is going to bother me now until I remember.  I'll be sure to let you know if I do remember.
