Well, I know of the Village Inn and, yeah, no separate area that we could use, unfortunately. As far as dates I think this weekend would work ok for me and I know the 27th and Feb. 3rd would both be out. And, if you're considering Mall 205 area there is the Old Country Buffet but I don't know if our group would be big enough to use the separate room and I have problems eating their food (so, its a suggestion but I'm shooting it down at the same time, lol). What about hotels?  I know several airport area hotels have alcove spots (or at least they have in the past) so I'm wondering about other hotels people may be more familiar with. Lori EDIT:  Should we also try to bring before and after pics this time?  I haven't had much to show before, lol!

"...if you're considering Mall 205 area there is the Old Country Buffet..." I think that the Old Country Buffet is now the Hometown Buffet.  It is located on SE Washington Street east of Mall 205 and directly south of Denny's next to Office Max and near a fitness center.  It can be entered thru 102nd and 103rd Avenues south of the US Bank as well.  There is another Hometown Buffet on NE Halsey Street just west of 106th Avenue.  It used to be a JJ North's Grand Buffet restaurant. Both restaurants are supposedly WLS-friendly and feature protein-laden foods as well as fruits.  Both have separate rooms that we can use.

We chose Elmer's at Delta Park because of the room and because the other places were so noisy, as I recall. It gave Greg and me a chance to go early and set the room up the way we wanted. It also was freeway close to everywhere and usually not crowded on Sunday mornings (no churches close by, lol) The long table tends to reduce the opportunity to talk to people from one end to the other. Just thought you would like to know why we made that "the place." I'd still like to come to wherever you choose to meet.  I'll also let Joy know if she isn't reading. PATTY!!!! I miss you!      Call me. tee

I don't know about the Home Town Buffets in Portland, but the one in Eugene will not give a discount for WLS folks.  When I asked, I was told, "No, we can't do that for you people."  Made me feel really marginalized.  Needless to say, I don't eat there. Linda

There is an elmers off 205 and Sandy Blvd that has a back room or area that might work. Just another suggestion.

Not to get into the discount issue but I chose to not single myself out and could care less about getting a discount.  That's why I mentioned it.

I mentioned the way I was treated because someone mentioned it as a WLS friendly place.  I don't consider it so, especially when they charge a lot of money expecting that you're going to eat a lot.  I don't mind paying regular price for a normal breakfast at a restaurant. Linda

I was the one that initially suggested the place and location.  Not because it was WLS friendly (they're not) but because it is large-group friendly in an area they were all discussing getting together.
