Deanna's back, who is up for breakfast?

Is it about time yet for another breakfast?  Throw out some good dates.  My only request is that we consider changing the location further south this time since we've been heading to Jantzen Beach the last few times.  There is an Elmers near Mall 205 and one in Clackamas right off 205.  I haven't checked to see if they have a separate back room or not, though.  I'm open to going to some other restaurants too. Doesn't have to be Elmer's.  Anyone know someplace that can handle us?

Glad to see that you're tolerating food with your new stomach! I drive around Mall 205 a lot and have been to Elmer's near Mall 205 but not for a very long time.  I didn't notice if it has a separate room.  Right now, there is construction related to MAX going on, but the parking lot is still accessible from both Washington and Stark streets.   There is a Denny's restaurant near Mall 205 east of 102nd, but it does not have a separate room. There is a Village Inn on 103rd and Stark right next to the post office, but I don't know if it has a separate room.  Anyway, this restaurant has a Healthy Dining Finder menu, which is available on request.  In other words, it is very WLS-friendly. I am open to going to Clackamas, since I live quite close to I-205 and can get there in a short time.

That Village Inn sounds like a good possibility.  I'd be happy to try some different menu than Elmer's. I'm tired of that.  Though I'm not yet eating much...I'll probably just nibble off Henry's plate. We will see.

How ARE you?  You sound so good....did Dr. D do the trick? Are you better?

I feel like I'm finally starting to turn the corner. I'm weaning off the pain pills, but still have pain, which really surprises me over a month out of surgery.  Dr. D. must have fixed me up because everything is different now.  I poo only once every few days instead of 10 times a day, I'm noticing more energy starting to return. I'm not sleeping 16 hours a day.  I can tolerate sugar now, no more dumping.  And I can tolerate some carbs already. I am eating regular food now. I've gained 6 pounds.  So I'm starting to see some improvement there. That is exciting!  I still have the tube feed, and probably will for some time.  I can't eat much at a time and I know they want to make sure I can get enough calories by mouth to at least sustain my weight, let alone gain.  So I suspect I may have my tube for another month or maybe even more.  But that's a small sacrifice to pay to get my health back.  I have a nice portable machine that is easy to tote around.   Can't wait to see you again. Which weekend(s) work for you?

Kim, so glad you are doing better---6 pounds up is great.  Sounds like you may be getting rid of the feeding tube soon.  Julia

I saw your post on the Main board about your eating dinner with your family the other night and tolerating it very well!  It looks like the history of those terrible "trots" is over and the spaces between pooing are getting longer.  Never thought that I would be happy about such things! You're only about 6 weeks out and your innards have been re-arranged, so it may take some time for the pain to subside completely as your innards heal.  I don't think that you will be experiencing dumping because, with your new vertical sleeve stomach, your pyloric valve is still intact.

I'm not so sure.  I don't know if he left the pyloric valve attached to the old remnant stomach or not.  That is one thing I want to clarify with him when I see him on the 17th.  Could be I don't totally understand the look of the anatomy, but I thought it went stomach, pyloric valve, then intestine.  I know with the MGB, I had no pyloric valve.   And yes, my bathroom habits have changed dramatically!  Can't say i miss sitting on the porcelain throne in the cold bathroom.  But I don't have as much reading time now! LOL!
