I finally took the time to figure out how to get my picture on here- I have posted a couple of times but was invisible. I still have not figured out how to put in nice fonts and colors and stuff but with time ... In case you want to know: I am waiting in line to have lapband surgery through OHSU. I got a phone call yesterday from the psychologist that my psych eval will be faxed to the office today. So my fingers are crossed that I get assigned a surgeon? and appointment with a surgeon or something soon. I have enjoyed reading the posts on here and on the lapband forum and look forward to trying to get to the next get together! Tina

After your psychological report has been received, your package will be reviewed by the bariatric team and then sent to your insurance company for authorization.   Drs. O'Rourke and Wolfe both perform lap band surgery, but Dr. Deveney does not.   Your NP should be in touch with you. Best of luck!

DS (lap) with Dr. Clifford Deveney. Cholecystectomy (lap) with Dr. Clifford Deveney 19 months post-op.

Has not weighed myself since 1/2010.  Letting my clothes gauge my progress instead.

Welcome Tina!  Patience is key with this journey.  I started in March of last year and finally have a surgery date of Jan. 31, but am waiting for the insurance company to give their last approval.  While I say you have to be patient, you also have to be pro-active.  No one cares about this as much as you do, so make those calls to the doctor's office until they know you on a first name basis etc. I really learned alot from the folks her on OH too.  Mostly by listening and lurking, but also because I ask questions. Good luck every step of the way.  OH is here for you Nola

Welcome! Patience is not my virtue.  When I look back - I can't believe I persevered with so many little details.  They all added up to surgery!  Believe it or not it eventually seemed like it was a whirl, but I do remember at the time feeling like it would never happen.  And each step would be ANOTHER six weeks here, four more weeks for this, etc.  Once you have a date that is so cool!  That is when it seemed real. Please come meet with us - we love to share with newcomers! Patty
