Hi all.  It's been a while since I posted here.  Just trying to get every T crossed and I dotted so the insurance company will approve me for surgery.  I actually have a date of January 31, but they have to give final approval and it seems they will drag it out until the last minute.  UUGGGHHH! Anyway, I am doing my pre-surgcial diet consisting of yogurt, cott. cheese, ricotta, chicken, tuna, fruit and veggies and I just keep eating the same old stuff.   Does anyone have some recipes that they concocted while in this phase and would be willing to share.  I would really appreciate it. Hi Nola - one of the things that I started doing was drinking the protien drink, and mixing the protien shakes.  It helped for me to do that.  The other thing I did was move to eating more soups (healthy choice) in an effort to get used to the liquid diet.  Simply by doing that I found that I could lose weight. I know it's frustrating to have to wait and get approval from the insurance co, but the longer you wait the easier it is to make the transition, or at least in my humble opinion.  During that transition I felt like I was able to take care of a lot of the details to prepare for the surgery, get my mind in the right space, and do a lot of research (as it looks like your doing too). Best of luck...You will be so surprised at how quickly time flies and the weight melts off!  I can't wait to see your transition!

Hi Gayla.  Thanks for the encouraging words and good advice.  I hadn't thought of the soups.  I was given a list of foods and have been so strict about keeping to it, I guess I need to broaden my horizon. By the way, you look great!  I love your new picture.   Thanks again, Nola

Thank you Nola!  Have you tried any of the protien powders yet?  That was one thing that I wanted to make sure that I found BEFORE the surgery, because I wanted to make sure that I enjoyed the taste of them.

Yes, I have.  I heard alot of good things about Unjury, so I ordered some.  Compared to what I've tried in the past, this stuff tastes like nectar :)  I have been drinking the past week.

Exactly!  Chocolate is my favorite, but I don't mind the strawberry or vanilla either.  Have you tried the chicken soup Kathy?  That one I'm kind of scared to try , if you know what I mean, lol. Have you had your surgery yet?  Just curious. Nola

Hello Ladies, I think it is a great idea to try out the protein shakes pre-op. Just thought I would share that many people find that their tastes change post-op. It is hard to explain, but I have heard several others say is what they liked pre-op, they now don't like. Please don't go out and buy a large quantity of something like I did, and them not be able to use it post-op. I would suggest getting a few sample sizes to try after surgery, or smaller containers. I was very sensitive for a long time. I did also find Unjury to be the best powder for me as well. I have used the unflavored the most. I add it to the crystal light packets and it mixes well and doesn't change the flavor. I would also reccomend checking out their web-site. You can order a supply of individual serving sizes of all of their flavors. I don't know if I helped you at all, but thought I would just share some of my experience. Good Luck to You! Christina
