Kim just called!  She had her surgery Friday.  It was an open revision to a gastric sleeve.  They had a lot of trouble controlling her pain after surgery, but she is feeling better now.  She hasn't been up to walk yet, but that is on the agenda for this afternoon.  She sends her love to everyone and thanks you for the messages.  She is likely to be in the hospital for a few more days.  Linda

Linda, thanks for the update.  I am sorry she is having pain and hope it gets better and better.  I was hoping it could be done lap but know she is just happy that it is done finally.  Julia

Thank you so much for the update, Linda! I've been thinking about her all weekend and I hope she has a speedy and uneventful recovery.

Glad to see that Kim tolerated her surgery last Friday. You say that she was revised to a gastric sleeve.  Is that the same as a vertical sleeve gastrectomy? Best of luck to Kim!

Thanks Linda; I have been keeping up with her problems, and hoping that it all ends soon.  Tell her that we are praying for her.  God bless to all,  Deb

I'm glad to hear Kim is recovering ok.  Did she say anything about the doctor reconnecting some of her intestines?  I thought that was the plan, if possible, so she wont be dealing with the malabsorption issues like before...   Well, at least in the hospital she wont be dealing with any power outages :)  My power has been out for 24 hours now, so I'm using a generator to check the internet right now :)  Fun fun!  No water for us even, since our well is on an electric pump.  (sorry if that was off topic to this post)

Yes, they put back all of the intestines.  She should have good absorbtion now, she just won't be able to eat as much.  I still have power here -- lucky I guess.  It's been pretty scary with the trees dancing! Linda
