Update Time
Just thought I would pop in with an update.
I am just a little over two weeks out.
I started eating my first solid (soft) foods this week.
Had a deviled egg for Thanksgiving and it tasted very good and I felt completely satisfied after eating it. I didn't really miss all the other goodies, and just enjoyed the aroma.
I have been eating eggs and cottage cheese, even had a string cheese and have had no problems or issues yet.
Things seem to be going just fine. I guess I have been fortunate, I haven't had any issues with nausea or anything. I don't have a lack of energy some people report after surgery. I don't have any more energy than I did before really at this point, but no less by any means.
I went back to work last week and worked two nights. I am off on my weekend now. I work 12 hour shifts (6:00pm to 6:00am) so I work 3 nights and have 4 off. Then every third week I work one extra night. Everything went just fine the days I went back to work.
Overall, I am feeling good. I have lost 32lbs since surgery and 62lbs overall. Starting to notice it in my clothes and it feels good.
Wow Gary, that's GREAT! I needed three weeks off before I went back to work, but then again, I'm old. Glad to hear you're tolerating food pretty well. I think I have a pretty weird stomach now. I can eat most soft things like soup and eggs and cottage cheese. I don't do well at all with poultry, but steak is awesome. I was warned that beef could be a problem, but I like it just fine (except for ground beef, that is). You're doing so well on the weight loss. You'll be just a shadow of your former self very soon.
