Mexico surgery?/Eve R.

I have some people that would like to go there that are self pay. What kind of surgery did you have? What town? What Doc? How much?

Linda S told me that you were looking for the Mexico bound!!!  That's me! I am having Lap Band in Tijuana at the newer 90 million dollar Hospital Angeles.  Tijuana is not exciting at all but the new hospital is very state of the art! I had 2 girls call me from Oregon..they will probaly have someone from your state call. So nice, they have had the surgery and tell you all about it.  I had 2 different hospitals offered to me and 2 different doctors.  I went with Dr Juan Corvala Lopez.  He has done over 3000 lap band surgeries and trains the docs here!  They only started here in Eugene last  August, so I feel much better going there.  It costs $22,500 here and $7250 there with a more experienced doctor! I arrive in San Diego and they pick me up there ($335 round trip from Eugene) and deliver me back to the airport on the 4th day.2 nights in the hospital and 1 night in a nice hotel. They provide you with a list of fill doctors all over the US.  They were very helpful and promise to be there every step of the way and have been so far.

Hi there!! I'm heading to Ensenada on December 10th for RNY. The total cost will be about 13K including flight. My doctor, Martin Salvador Valencia teaches at UCLA in Los Angeles and does surgery in Ensenada on Mon/Tues He also works in Tijuana at the Fancy new hospital there.

Like the lady said before me... they've been doing this in Mexico longer than in the USA.... so I'm in good hands.

I had the lapband surgery a year ago in Monterrey Mexico, with Dr. Rumbaut.  They know what they're doing and take care of everything, from picking you up at the airport , getting you to the Dr. office and the hospital.   The hotel is very nice, and the hospital is extremely modern and big.  I spent one night in the hospital then went back to the hotel for two days before flying home.  I left Oregon on a Tuesday, had surgery on Thursday , flew home on Sunday and went to work Monday morning.            I paid a $600 deposit.  Then bought a round trip ticket to Monterrey $560.  The procedure was $10,000, and I paid part with a cashiers check and put part on a credit card.          In the past year I have had two fills, and have lost 90 pounds.  I would do it again in a heartbeat.    Eve
