Has anyone ran a low grade fever after surgery?
Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone ran a low grade fever after surgery. I'm 6 days out now and yesterday eve. I started running one. It was 99 and tonight its 99.9. The Dr.'s office didn't seemed concerned just said to call back tomorrow if it went up to 100. Still having the turkey trots though.. Thank goodness for imodium, no warning AT ALL, ekk.

Carolee, I ran a fever after my gallbladder surgery. It was respiratory due to anesthesia. I was told to cough and walk and it went away. Depending on what kind of thermometer you are using this may be normal. Normal with an ear thermometer is around 99.6---deep breathe, walk, make your self cough and drink lots of liquids (where have you heard that before). Julia
Hi Carolee - I had an unexplained fever in the hospital (102) and then had a low-grade one when I came home. I was told to call the doc if it went over 101. It stayed low and then eventually went away. Hope you feel better soon. Sounds as though you may have picked up a bug in the hospital -- best place to get germs! If it does go up, call them right away.

Hi Jo Ann,
I'm doing pretty good, I think. I felt a little stronger this morning for the first time. I got up and got my cream of wheat and applesause. Yes I still have problems get alot of fluids in, I did get 40oz fluids and 50 protein. Those protein drinks gag me. I've tried several but just can't find one that does it for me. Only problems are diarrhea and the low grade fever that comes in the afternoon otherwise doing dog gone good. Thanks so much for writting and your thoughts , they mean alot to me.
How are you doing? How much have you lost now? Any side effects? Do you remember how long it was before you felt normal and driving, shopping, ect.? Talk to you later. Carol

Hi Carolee - I liked the protein shakes before surgery. Afterwards they made me want to gag too. I found that if I mixed them up and put them in a water bottle with a top or something like that, where I couldn't smell them, I had an easier time drinking them. For me, it was the smell of the protein, combined with the smell of my dishwasher soap (residue on the glass) that really was just too much for me. I do better with them now.

Hi ,glad your doing every thing right, I think I was driving after 2 weeks when I stopped taking the pain meds, I think I was out after a week even so you'll be doing just fine in no time . I have last about 53lbs but that includes the 12 I lost befor the surgery I'm 4 months out on the 18th of this month ,down to a size 14 pants. So see what you have to look forward to. I have some clothes if you need anythinf let me know. Jo Ann
Whooo size 14, that's a regular size like you buy in the regular department. I don't remember how that felt. Congradulation. My pants were kinda saggy today. I put a couple pairs on and liked what I felt. I've dropped about 28 or 30 which also included some before hand. I do have several sizes to work with as we all probably save stuff as we gain hoping we will fit back in them. But Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on it anyway. Carol
