Hi- I am new to this site.  I am just starting the long process towards approval.  Have my phych. appt. next week and my nut and NP appt.s the week after that.  I would like to talk with seasoned bariatric patients and wonder if the meeting you posted is open to the public?? This meeting is basicly open to the public, because it is not run by a clinic, its just a gathering of local people (at someone's private home) who've had surgery/or are preparing for surgery.  I personally don't mind if you come.  If you want to message Kim G. (who is hosting it at her house) you can ask her how she feels about you joining us :)  and get her address (if its ok).  She is on my friends list if you don't have her profile handy.

Also, most surgeons have a "session" or support group that they have you attend prior to surgery to ask questions of their patients.  (My surgeon is in Calif. and it was a requirement before surgery to attend one of his support groups)  So you could ask to attend one of your surgeon's groups, too. Who is your surgeon?

If I can help you with any questions, feel free to message me :) I can speak from my experience, at least.   Also, feel free to post any questions in a new thread (on this Oregon forum, or the main forum for a wider viewing across the U.S./world) and you will get plenty of answers :)
