Bad news
I am so sorry you are experiencing so many difficulties. I did go and read your blog, and in my opinion, it seems that you are trying to push yourself too much and not giving your body time to heal properly. Returning to work only after one week. Gosh, I am having the lap band and I plan on taking two weeks off, (You know, the older you get, the longer it takes to heal)
I do so hope you are able to work thru your emotional issues.......
I read your profile and I guess I have to agree that you went back to work too soon. Doesn't mean this would not have happened to you though. I went back after 3 weeks and then could only make it 4 to 6 hours a day for the first week, but then I am OLD!! Take it easy. If you do not have sick leave---PTO--vacation etc. take a week or two of family medical leave and REST. You need to take care of yourself too, especially after having a bleed. I bet you will get to feeling better about the surgery soon. No surgery is without potential problems. Julia
I guess I will make my self more clear-
I KNOW I went back to work to early- but I also have 3 kids- so- regardless- work is easier then being at home with 3 children- i love my kids- but they are 8-4 and 7 months old- I COULD NOT afford to pay daycare AND not work- let alone not work period- I have low platelettes which means I BRUISE easy and bleed very easily- so this would have happend whether home or not- I ALSO have one question maybe some one can answer- is DECAFF coffe considered good liquid intake?
Decaf coffee is a diuretic and can deplete body fluids rapidly, especially post-op. That is one reason people should not drink coffee of any kind for a while after abdominal surgery. Therefore, water (either bottled or on tap) and Crystal Light are considered better liquid intake.
