would someone tell me please!!!!!

Hello to all,     I would like to have the RNY surgery done! but I will need to go to Mexico in order to pay for it.     I live in Sweet Home Or and I want to find out if any one know's of a Dr. within a 75mil  around me that would take me on as a pt post op to do my test and all,  any re. would be appreciate very much.       Devina   P.S.Be Blessed   

How much is the surgery in Mexico?  You might want to check with Dr. Tersigni at Bay Bariatrics.  I know his price for lap band is only $10,000, so RNY may not be that much more.  It would save you the trip and you'd have after care built in. Linda

Hey Linda I called the Dr u told me to check out, are you setting down he wants 24,300!!!!!!! that is for cash price!!!!! so and a way we go again same old same old. @ this point I have come to the point I know Iam waisting my time trying to find a Dr I can afford to do this procedure.      I started looking into the DS surgery in Mexico and a Dr. call me just about hafe hr ago and said he do it for 18,000 the DS procedure  These people act like everyone is rich!!!! I dont have that kind of money I can get my hands on !!! I will have to get  financing to even get the RNY done!!! PEOPLE don't know how lucky thay are to have Ins that will cover this procedure.      I used to have awesome Ins but that was 7yr ago now I have a real high co pay and Deductable  it's unreal not to mention the procedure ((( NOT))) even offer!!!!! Thank you Providence I bet OR helth plain has better coverage!!!!! So that is why I am stuck and I don't have another OPTION I don't care any way I will get it done some way .      Let me see I am 5-2 and weight  is around 230 lb  so my bmi is around 42 not to good! I used to be able to lose weight and be ok but now I cant do it and I keep going up, there got to be a stop to it I cant breath!!!  and I did not mean for this to be so long I apologize, have a supper evening.      Devina  

Darn - I'm sorry to hear this.  I thought since he did the lap band for a low price, he might also do the RNY cheaper.  Believe me, I am very grateful that my surgery paid for my surgery.  I had to pay for a lot of the testing to get there, but it saved me a lot of money. Linda

We both started at the same weight and almost same height. I was a 2x 18-20 and 22, now Im a size 8. I  couldnt afford it either. I went with the Lap band w/ Dr. Tersigni for the $10,000 took a seond on my house, used  part of my 401k,  heck If im not here to retire I wont be able enjoy it any way.  Having care close to home really is important. Lap band isnt a bad choice, check out my before and after pictures they tell the truth Im 5'1. I'll answer any questions you might have. gail  

Yep, my Lap RNY with Dr. Tersigni was a little over $23,000. Maybe they have raised their prices. It may be chaper in Mexico, but is it really? It's a lot further to travel and they have no medical board overlooking their procedures as to how safe it is. I'd rather go with someone who has a good reputation.
