I just got a call from Oregon Health Sciences University and I have an appt. at their bariatric clinic with Clifford Deveney, MD.  They reviewed my records and see the need is fairly urgent, but I still can't get in until Oct. 18!  They put me down for cancellations, in hopes I can get in sooner.  At least I have an appt.  Now if only the time will pass quickly and I can get some strength.  I don't really want to be off work that long.

That is fantastic news Kim..... I will keep my fingers crossed for a cancellation.

Grats Kim, Glad to see that they could see it was urgent (lol how could they not?  you are melting away!) and they're trying to squeeze you in. Good luck and hope a cancellation comes in. Michele

Good going! But hope you are feeling better soon, or get a cancelation!
If you get worse I would not hesitate to go to the OHSU emergency room! Talking to the local surgeons they said they would not see me locally, but I could always come thru the ER if I had a problem, and they would see me. I think that's pretty typical.

That is great that you will be seen by Dr. Deveney at OHSU!  I have my initial appointments at the same clinic this Friday but will not be seeing a surgeon at that time.  I am hoping to have Dr. D. do my DS. Let's hope that there is a cancellation between now and the 18th of next month so that you can get your situation resolved sooner.   It is tough being off work for a long period of time.  However, it appears that your employer is very understanding about your health situation. Giving you very gentle hugs!

If you need to, do not hesitate to go to ER at OHSU. You can tell them there what you have said here and simply that you are weak and losing weight by the minute. I have done this a few times myself.   Deveney is exactly the doctor you need. tee

HI, Congradulations!  I too have an appointment for November 14th!!!  I am so excited. This is my first post and am having problems getting my pic up because it keeps telling me that the picture size is too big.  I have reduced it's size, changed it to JPEG and still too many pixels I guess.
