Curves...exercise for women...anyone have info?
Anyone have info on Curves, the exerc. place for women?
I am going to go check out the one in Thurston (52nd & Main) and wonder what their "deal" is.....fees; routines; beneficial? etc......
I am a Rheumatoid Arthritic and need non joint jarring exercise- usually go in for water exercise, but costs are up and hassle factor of driving farther etc. and need to get in & out quickly.
Any info is great.... bad news or good news , warnings or etc. appreciated!
I'll be honest with you. I loved it, but was taken off due to problems with my knees. And NOT because I am overweight. A women at my church, thin... had the same thing happen. My PCP said he does not endorse CURVES as their machines are designed for the "average" body size. Not meaning weight. Average body size like torso, length of legs, etc. See, the problem comes from that you can't adjust the machines to your body. So, if you're short legged, you'll struggle more. If you're short waisted you'll struggle on different machines.
Again, I loved it... and wished I could have stayed. I loved the atmosphere, and it was very very comfortable. So if it works for you... stick with it!
