Surgery 9/11/07 ADVICE!!!
Usually a liquid diet would consist of clear broth, SF jello, and weak tea (if you like tea) or water. Desserts would be SF popsicles. Drink plenty of fluids. Do not eat red foods before surgery. Surgeons may mistake the red color for blood and do additional surgery unnecessarily. I wouldn't drink Slim Fast at all--too much sugar at 17 to 35 grams, depending on the flavor. Better to drink SF protein drinks instead. Hope this helps!

Yeah, CLEAR liquids would mean no Slimfast or cream/milk-based protein shakes, either :( That really sucks! You are quite limited.
But this is just a taste of all the rules you will have to follow after surgery... specific diet right after surgery, spacing out your vitamins all day long, waiting 30 minutes between eating and drinking... it really fills up one's day following all these rules :) But the rewards are worth it! You'll see :)
