Question for Dr Pattersons' patients......
Patterson is my surgeon as well... I also attended the 6/19 seminar. I sent in my application and got initial insurance approval around mid-july. I did my tests on 8/8 and had consults with the dietician, physical therapist, psych and physician on 8/14. All but the physical therapist and dietician approved me to move on. I did my sleep study on 8/22. I have followups on 9/20 with physical therapist and dietician... she told me if I have followed their basic instructions and started exercising and lose an initial 20lbs (5% total weight @ 400lbs) my charts would be forwarded to patterson and the insurance company and I'd get a date scheduled to meet with patterson. So... it's been less than 3 months so far and haven't got to the consult yet for surgery. I'm hoping to have surgery in late Oct or Nov... but might be pushing it.
10 months for me from intro to surgery (my surgery is scheduled 10-10) but part of that was my slowness in losing the required 5% (15 damn pounds took me 3-4 months). Once I got insurance approval, she was able to offer me several dates within a month... and I got insurance approval 2 weeks after I made weight (and by this time I had been through the day of appointments with all the random people who have to check the boxes.)

I am not with Patterson, am with Jan, but the info is similar. Seminar in late May, initial appointments on July 3rd and 5th. No follow ups were needed. I met with the surgeon on August 27th, have lost my 5% for insurance and the papers were faxed yesterday. Waiting on final Regence approval and then date for surgery. Was told I would be looking at the last week of Sept. or 1st week into October and both Patterson and Jan were in the same scheduling week when I was in there on the 27th. I think the differences in time have to do with the need for follow ups or additional studies.
This final waiting is the worst........
