got my band date and other misc. rants
Melanie! I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I don't always check the local boards but do come back periodically and read them. I lost my mom in 2005 and it still sucks. At least I had warning (she had terminal lung cancer).
Now, about the band. You'll do wonderfully. I'm certain of it. The Legacy group has had quite a good success rate and, if you pay attention to the message boards (but take the info with a grain of salt) and to the information the clinic gives you, I'm sure you and your husband will do great.
Whatever you do, don't compare yourself to me, lol. I really am unique and I have other reasons why I only lost 20 pounds in the first year -- with restriction and 6 fills.
I have found Dr. Jan to be incredibly supportive (he never challenged me even if he may have been questioning me in his mind) throughout my entire process. I can only assume Dr. Patterson is as compassionate than he is. Well, there are the rumors, lol!
I wish you and your husband continued success and know you can do this!
Lori
Hi. First off I'm very sorry to hear about your mom. My mom passed away Oct 30 of last year and my mother n law passed away Feb 4 of this year. Its been rough to say the least.
Congrats on your date. From what I read everywhere its perfectly normal to be having these feelings before surgery. Its a big life changing event, the good thing is since your hubby is having it done to then you both can work together on getting through it and both know what the other is going through. Goodluck with your journey, I'm sure you and your hubby will do great.
