Finally Got Initial Appointment!
Mailed the application for WLS to OHSU last Friday 8/17/2007. Got a call from the coordinator there this afternoon to set up two appointments: one with the nurse and the other with the dietician. Both will be adjoining appointments on the same day, Friday 9/28/2007!
One of a couple of things that have to be done prior to the appointment is to get clearance from a cardiologist for bariatric surgery. I will be calling my PCP for a referral to one.
Another thing to be done is a sleep study. I told the coordinator that I had a sleep study done a few years ago on the order of another doctor within the system. I asked her if that counted. She said yes, but she couldn't find the report but will continue to search my medical records. I also told her to contact the doctor who ordered the study if she still cannot find it.

Dr. O'Rourke hardly smiled during the presentation. I suppose that it was because the whole thing was serious business. He even admitted to being 30# over his weight.

When I mailed my app last Friday, I thought I would have to wait at least a month or so before getting a call from the clinic. Man, was I surprised when the call came just 5 days afterwards!
