Hi, I have Regency Blue/Cross BlueShield of Oregon and my plan with them "EXCLUDE'S"  WLS.  They will not cover lap band or rny, NOTHING that has to do with weight loss.  Your's might be different, so do like I did and put it though anyway, just to find out.  I do hope that they pay for you. Blessings Chrisy

I think that I have Regence Blue Cross, thru the Kroger Company......my insurance covers weight loss surgery, and I have preliminary approval for the lap band surgery.  Just waiting to jump thru the hoops that I need to do.....what fun!  Good Luck~

I have Regence BC/BS through the State of Oregon/Oregon University System.  They cover both the RNY and the LapBand.  I had RNY surgery on July 24th.  Once you attend an information session at a Center of Excellence, you will need the following for your pre-approval (the COE will give you a packet that will explain everything needed from your doc): Several years of dieting history (mine was an informal list of Weigh****chers, Jenny Craig, etc.) Letter from your physician recommending you BMI over 35 with diabetes or over 40 with any co-morbidity They may require a sleep study, blood work, endoscopies, etc. Then you will need to attend a visit with a nutritionist, a nurse practitioner, and then they will schedule you to see a surgeon.  You will need to lose 5% of your body weight within the 6 months prior to surgery being scheduled. The whole process will take about 5-6 months.  It seems like a long time, but it goes by quickly.  If you are a State employee, check out this link: http://www.or.regence.com/pebb/benefits/bariatric.html Linda

My husband and I are covered by Regence through State of Oregon employees, and the lapbands are being covered.  :)
