Hospital Keystone Cops
I had surgery a week ago. I can now laugh at all this stuff, but when it was happening, I was none too happy. Please check out my blog -- it's kind of a long story, so I won't re-write it here. Luckily, I had an awesome surgeon. The hospital experience was far from perfect!

Good Heavens!!!! Just read your blog..............my gosh...........but maybe all those things were meant to happen so you could have smooth sailing once you left the hospital!!!!! I am certainly hopeful after reading your posts................sometimes the horror stories on some of the general boards create some fear, but I truly believe that I'm taking the right steps to be healthy. Thanks for your inspiration!!!!!
Linda,
I had to laugh when reading your blog...same type of things happened to me at OHSU. Most of the problems were from the "room mates from hell". One of them kept escaping and had to have a "babysitter" CNA with her 24/7. Wasn't pleasant. The first patient with me had her entire family there 24/7. I got to stay in that hospital for 6 long days - NO SLEEP - ever...too noisy. But, like you said, they were very attentive and took good care of me. Saw Dr. Wolfe about 5 times, plus the assistant every day and all the med students were great. We ate the same exact food, but I didn't have the allergies you had. Also, I guess I was a bit lucky - I was on the 13th floor in the trauma unit, so got really special treatment. They didn't know what to do with me there, but things worked out, plus I had a great view of Portland. Aren't you glad this is behind you now? I sure am. Just had my first check up today, and I am doing great. Take care.

Hi Donna! How are you feeling? I guess it's just the nature of hospitals. I'm glad I'm out. My roommate did have a fabulous view of Mt. Hood -- my side of the room had no window and, because the curtain was drawn all the time, no natural light at all. I felt like I was living in a tunnel. I would stop on my walks through the hallways and look out the windows of the empty rooms.
