Anyone heard from Donna?
She had a revision at OHSU on Friday. I'm wondering how she's doing? Surgery is only a week away for me. I'm so excited I can hardly sit still. I have so much work to do here at the office and I don't want to do any of it! It's driving me crazy. Okay - back to work.
Donna - if you're reading, I'm praying all went great and you're on your way to feeling good.

Dang - lost my post! Well, as I was saying - - -
My back is finally starting to do well. I had an injection in the disc and surrounding tissue last Tuesday. It was excruciating. I think the whole facility could hear me screaming. I'm allergic to Versed, so they had to give me fentanyl (?) and didn't give me near enough. I was wide awake and very on edge. One good thing about the pain, however, is that it was a good indicator that the doctor got the medicine where it needed to go. I haven't had a pain pill since Sunday and I'm able to gently bend and walk with a lot more ease. It's really nice not to look like Quasimodo lumbering down the sidewalk now! It's also nice to be recovered from one thing before starting another. I'm so excited to finally be having my day next week.

Linda,
I'm back and I'm miraculously alive and beginning my new life. I've also gained about 30 lbs of fluid. It was a big surgery and my body piled on the pounds of water in "protection" mode. I felt your prayers - I really did. I was scared and didn't know what to expect. I'm ok now. No problems - no more bad staple job, no more abdominal leaking, and my original stomach is smaller than what you'll end up with. The little pouch is really weird and will take some getting used to. I didn't know that I was even going to wake up with a gastric bypass, but I did. It is done and I'm on my way to a speedy recovery. You'll do great. And, remember OHSU is the best. I was in the hospital almost 6 days - not what any of you will go through, but know that you're in good hands and all will be okay...and I will also be thinking and praying for you.
I'll write more later when I'm a little stronger.
Thanks for thinking of me,
Donna
