I have lost 97 pounds so far and, Well, it seems that I am going to be skinny, saggy and.....bald!!! I have heard from so many WLS'ers about the skin and the hair loss but wow!!!.....I think that I am getting enough of all the things that I need in my diet and vitamins....anything else I should do? Or just wait it out?  Shop for a wig or shave it all so that it will stop clogging the drain?!!!

Wow Debra!  You are doing a fabulous job on the weight loss.  I'm a little worried about the hair loss, as I already lose a bit now and then due to my hypothyroidism.  I always seem to have lots of hair left, but I hate cleaning the drain all the time tool. Linda

Hi Debra, I am with you!  My hair just started falling out last week.  It hasn't been quite as bad as I expected, though (knock on wood).  From what I understand, it's just something that happens.  I've heard conflicting things about whether or not vitamins help, but the nutritionist did tell me to make sure I get in all my protein.  And I figure we need our vitamins anyway, so it can't hurt to take 'em and hope it helps!   At least we'll all be skinny, saggy, and bald together!

Hi to you! Congratulations on your surgery.  It gets really exciting about this far out from surgery.   I figure there will be a branch out from this forum for the newly bald, skinny and saggy people...I might even start it myself!!!

Hey Debra I hear you sweetie. I am in the same boat. I have to clean the drain after each shower but I think it might be slowing down, at least for this week, I have found that wearing my hair up seems to help or at least that is how it feels. about the saggy skin thing.  I keep reminding myself that saggy skin has to be better than plump fat skin right? Besides I feel so much better that Its worth the price right? :)  I hope that you can come to breakfast some day I would love to meet you  Kel

I too wear my hair up now almost every day.  It might be time for me to get a shorter and sassier haircut soon.  And I do feel great  now with the bulk of my excess weight gone.  I have really slowed in the weight loss now....I guess I need to step up the walking a bit.   Is there a breakfast soon?  I would love to go!  I have worked every other time that there was a breakfast....bummer.  I saw your new photos by the way, you look great!!!

Wow how the weight loss has slowed to a crawl!!! I lose anywhere from 1-2 pounds a week since about last month.  I am eating ok though.  I can't remember how many calories to get in but I think that I am somewhere between 900-1100.  I think that it might be too much.  I crave crunchy things that take a long time to eat like salad and grape nuts....weird.  My labs came back with everything ok except the potassium.  I am getting some more exercise though. When I calculate the weight loss it is 26 pre surgery and as of today, 72 since the surgery so I am not really sure if that rate is slow, fast or medium I am just not sad to see each pound go.   Good for you on the 77 pounds lost.  Maybe I will have 77 lost by 5 months out....that sounds great to me.  Good luck to you too!!

Debra,  The hair loss is most noticable between 3-6 mos, as I have been told. it should subside past that point.  I am just short of 6 mo, 77lbs gone, and I can tell that my hair is thinner, but not as much being shed these days.  Hang in there.... this too shall pass...congratulations on your surgery and success.
