Here I am! One week past surgery!
Can't belive it! Been waiting so long for this. Went in to OHSU Fro June 22 and home Sunday. Feeling great and getting all my fluids.... no pain... not hurgery... walking and sleeping a lot Life cant be better than this! I really thought this would be a lot harder than it has been and now I wonder why I waited so long. Not haveing any problems so far...except getting all the protein..... just dont' like the stuff and would sure like to have something hot and salty instead of cold and sweet.
All ready losing weight... donw ten pounds from pre surgery weight! WOW!!!

Good for you!!! That is so great. It has been 4 months for me and I am so excited every day that passes because I am getting closer and closer to my goal. Sorry about the protein drinks.....they are yucky! But hang in ther with them because truly you will only need them short term and they help with healing sooooo much. You are on your way!!!
Great news Linda!
I shared your desire to have a change of taste. I actually craved salad. I just wanted something zingy, crunchy, spicy. I managed fine with the protein shakes, but the other foods I could have were also mild and soft. You will be on to new things soon, and it will be a feast to you!
My feelings of regret that I didn't do my surgery got stronger as the weight came off. I would say I had to really mourn the "lost" time. While the thought remains, the strong feeling passed and I am just glad for the time I have gained.
Sounds like you are doing great!

Good for you Linda! As Randy says, lots of folks find they can tolerate the Unjury protein a little easier. Then of course there are others who don't like it. But, they also have a Chicken Broth protein that may help your desire for hot and salty instead of sweet. You can't get the water too hot, or it will get clumpy, but you may find that you like it.
