OHSU's new pre-op class

I asked for, and got, my money back from the nutrition lady's consult. Man, she said nothing and when I asked questions, she had no idea.  She said she would look it up and send me info and never did. Maybe check to see if you are paying for this class and decide based on that. Quilting sounds like more fun anyway. Love the Depot! I don't sew, but I shop there. tee

Was this the visit with the Nutritionist at OHSU? I had a great meeting with Shannon the first time I went up there.  She explained a lot to me, we talked about the stuff one should eat after surgery, what sort of things I should eat to lose my pre-op weight, lots of things.  She was really great.  That's partially why I'm wondering why I need to go again. Hi, I'm new to this site, but have been getting acquainted.  I am scheduled for surgery on July 13th with Dr. Wolfe at OHSU...revision from a previous gastric banding to the RNY.  I asked about the class, and Terra Gast told me she didn't know anything about it, and that I was not obligated to attend it since I was paying out of pocket for the surgery (insurance won't cover it at all).  I'd like to go and learn a few things.  It's been 17 years since the last surgery.  I have my preop appt. at 1PM on June 25th as well.  See the surgeon that morning.  Maybe I'll see you there.

Thanks Linda, I'm trying to find a picture of me alone without anyone in it.  Can't find one.  My preop stuff begins at 1PM and I think you said the class was 1:30.  I guess they think I don't need the info since I'm self-paying for this.  I read a lot, so I think I'm pretty prepaired, but it would be nice to have a professional tell me what to do afterwards.  Thank goodness for this forum. The class is at noon and they anticipate it taking 1.5 hours.  I suppose you could leave early if you have an appointment.  I'm still not sure I'm going.  I'll ask when I get there I guess. Linda
