I picked the surgeon, went to the meeting everthing going good right...... Well I guess my insurance ATNEA will not pay for surgery with dr. emma patterson but will if I go to South West Washington Clinic.  Has that happened to anyone out there.   I was told all I have to do is be in a physican 6 month weight and excerise program.... buttttttt I was told if at any time I gain weight I will be declined ( was told this by someone to whom I am not sure knows) So my question is does anyone know anything about this clinic ( in all honesty I don't know much either will get a new packet of info this week).  and has any one had this happened to them confuse  and  bummed

Sorry to hear you are going through this.  Most insurance companies work with specific places they are willing to pay.  I have Blue Cross, and they require a Center of Excellence.  If your insurance requires that you go to South West Washington Clinic, I guess you'll have to go there.  Check and see if there is anywhere else you can go.  Maybe if they have Legacy Good Samaritan as a category, you can show them that Dr. Patterson is there. I would ask your insurance for ALL the places they are willing to consider for your WLS.  This way you have options.  I'm sorry, but I'm unfamiliar with the SW Washington Clinic.  Is it in Kelso/Longview?  At this point don't be discouraged.  This is a lifelong commitment to a new way of life and it doesn't happen over night.  Once you receive the packet of information you can start to do more investigation into their programs. And yes, this is VERY common, unfortunately.  but you will get through it!! Keep us posted of your progress. Trisha

Are you talking about Dr. Cagle and Dr. Dally?!?  They're great!  I had my surgery at Legacy (for my own personal reasons) but wouldn't hesitate to go to either one of them.  They are excellent surgeons.  One of their collegues actually did a different type of stomach surgery on my husband. It isn't unusual to have to change arrangements at any given time due to insurance issues.  That's pretty standard. If you have questions, either PM me or ask here.  I'll try to answer as best I can.
