Carrie, I had surgery 7 days ago.  I would encourage you to just stay busy the next 7 days, try not to do the "last supper" thing if you don't have to.  Once I got through the surgery, I found that I wasn't in much pain, and that I had no problems at all with eating...I wasn't hungry, so didn't feel much like eating....but I did have my daughters with me that kept saying "sip, sip, sip" water!  Best of luck!  YOu'll be so happy when you hit the other side!!!

Thank you so much for your reply.  I am definately trying to stay busy, otherwise I think I would drive myself and my husband crazy. lol  Not being hungry??  What? That will be wierd but nice.  Take care Carrie

Hi Carrie,
I know what you are feeling, my nerves were really tested. I was having second thoughts going throught my head the week before my surgery. But, with the support from this website I was able to calm myself down to a point I could control. I am now 7 days post op and feeling better than I thought I would at this point. Best of luck to you, keep your goals in mind and I know you will succeed.

Best of luck to you and congratulations!  Expect the nerves, and try to channel all of those months and years of information and decisions that led you to being one week away.  Let your faith in knowing this is what you want to do be the loud voice, and the "oh my gosh I don't know why I said I'd do this" be the little nagging one on your shoulder.  And then flick him off! Thank you both for your replies!  I am lucky that all my family and friends support my decision.  It is me I am struggling with.  But it makes me feel better to hear this is normal.  Hey me normal who would of thought lol.   Carrie

How exciting Carrie!  I have to wait till July 24th, but I'm excited too.  I know that at my age, the time will fly anyway.  Eat lightly the few days before surgery if you can -- I hear that between the surgery, pain meds, etc., it can be really tough to "go" afterwards.  Painful, in fact, so be careful! Hi Carrie, I'm so excited for you! In case you haven't already, I highly recommend that you plug into the June surgery board. It's wonderful to meet people who are going through similar stuff at the same time. I can't tell you how much my April forum has helped me. Here's the link: http://obesityhelp.com/forums/06-2007/  Take care, Lisa
