Okay...I am in the Seattle area and there is no doc that does the DS here.  I am actively seeking a doc.  Does anyone have any experience with DS with this doctor?  Is there anyone that knows if his office is good to fight for insurance coverage?  ANY and all information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Red!  I am having RNY at OHSU and can tell you that they are wonderful to work with.  They are also the most highly rated facility in Oregon.  If you follow this link, you will come to a page about Dr. Deveny and some comments from his patients.  http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeon+profile+Clifford+Deveney+fjq.html I know they do RNY, Lap Band, and DS at OHSU.  I will have a different surgeon and different procedure, but I wish you all the best! Hi Redhead, I wanted to let you know that I had RNY with Dr. Deveney on March 7th. I was very impressed with him and his staff. They are very busy, but will accommidate  you if you explain that you are coming from out of town. The insurance people, know what they are doing, I had no problems, my insurance was approved within weeks of submission. I called and asked ???'s when I felt the need, and they were happy to explain things to me. Hope this helps a little. Christina

I just got out of the hospital from having the RNY with Dr. Deveney and his staff.  I could not be more pleased with the results, the good patient care, the plesant attitudes of all involved, and the way I was taken care of in general.  I know that Dr. Deveney's staff provides excellent information about your insurance company and will definately fight for you if you need help.
