It just occured to me that even though I am planning to come home on Friday, after a Wednesday surgery, they might not let me go! I have a two hour drive home from Portland.  All along I have been planning on coming home on Friday because my surgery is being done of Wednesday...so, do you think they will be afraid that 2 hour drive home will be too long?  Will I have to stay another day or do you think I'll get to come home?  I love my home, and will miss my dogs and husband (not in that order), so I am really wanting to come home on Friday!

Hey Gayla, Did they say you would come home 2 days after surgery?  I don't see any reason why the 2 hour drive would preclude them from letting you come home as scheduled ... as long as you were medically stable, which we all are on discharge.

I think it will be okay.  You might want to be sure you have a pillow with you to protect your stomach from the seat belt for that long of a ride.  I will also have the some issue. Linda

I see you lost another pound....good!~  I am trying to set up the ticker thing too, just that I do struggle with the computer.   Am sure I will figure it out!

Gayla

I had my appointment with the surgeon today at OHSU (Dr Deveney).  I will be having surgery on a Wednesday as you are and when he ask where I was from and I told him I lived in Springfield, he said that he wouldn't probably release me until Saturday.  It may not be the same for you but the long trip home may hold up your release for an extra day. I hope this isn't the case for you. Good Luck to you. Randy

Well what ever happens happens, I guess.  It isn't like I have any control over it, is there?  LoL - I just know I am really looking forward to being past the surgery!  See you soon.....
