Wow Kelly, you are doing GREAT! I remember when I started getting an energy rush from finally being able to move easier. It just keeps getting better. I would suggest with your husband, that you don't let him dictate your activity level. Maybe the more you do, the more he will want to join you. And with you fixing him lunch, you can hopefully re-teach him what healthy portion sizes are. It may be that he will come right alongside you over time. I sure hope so. Just enjoy your new energy and don't let him get you down.

Hey Kelly! You are doing very well.... I eat off of a salad plate and measure my food for the most part prior to the meal so that I don't put too much on there....over time (ESPECIALLY around the dreaded 6-8 month period) your appetitie will increase and it is too easy to ramp it up if the food is already on the plate. Even still, especially right now after surgery I find I don't have much of an appetite again so my dogs are also happy campers Try that trick and also try NOT grazing unless it is food you have already counted in your daily total. Too easy to start including things that shouldn't be there which will impeed your progress later on. It was so good to see you a few weeks ago! Trisha

I'm so glad you checked in!  I was just thinking about you a few days ago and was wondering how you were doing.  I knew that while you were fretting that you weren't making as much progress as you would like to.....you were making huge progress!  You are in the zone where things are going to seem so different.  The size change really starts to be significant.  You will reach down to pull the thingy to open the gas tank door, or zip into the toilet - sit down - and realize it wasn't a tight squeeze to do so!  Plus, it is going to continue to change.  I say the first fifty pounds were kind of lonely.  Most people didn't notice, and I could wear my same leggings and "fat" clothes.  Then, each ten pounds would make a HUGE difference.  It's so exciting!  I am so happy for you! It is also fabulous that the energy is finding you.  Just enjoy that you have so much, and notice how much you are getting done!  Right now the contrast is so great that you are probably hyper aware.  You and hubby will find a new pace.  In the mean time.....remember how obnoxious people can be that quit smoking or drinking or find a new religion.  Some of them can seem holier than thou, and get kinda preachy.  Not you of course!  I think it is common once your eating is under control and you are adapting new and healthy habits to see people at the mall or at a buffet and be dismayed at how much everyone eats and feel like it's downright shocking.  I found it part of my new awareness.  Your husband is so happy for you.  Just let the positive changes since your surgery shine.  He will share in your joy. See ya soon. Patty
